"Painting without paint"
My collaged portraits are a response to moments in time. They are made from newspaper text & images referring specifically to the person depicted. It is a slow and intense activity, one of trial and error as the image is gradually built up. It is a hand-made process that I have developed, the newspaper torn rather than cut, the only tool a glue brush. Special conservation techniques and glazing are used to UV-proof the work through all stages.
