DRIFTWOOD WORKS

A collection of small houses made from beach-combed pieces of wood. Gathered on coastal walks, taken home to be washed, seaweed and loose dirt removed, carefully dried . I try to preserve their weathered textures and odd shapes, often even the nails and screws in tact.

Each piece carries memories of the place I found it, and develops a personality that I explore as I work with it.
