Small remote houses have been a recurrent theme in my paintings for years, inspired by trips to the Western Isles of Scotland where the old crofters' cottages, alone in that wild coastal landscape, caught my eye and moved me.
I've continued to explore the theme of isolation, both intended and enforced, using the humble dwelling as a motif.
